    Can you provide fair grounds?

The Harvest Festival & County Fair would like to find a more spacious and permanent home.
If you have open, centralized property in Floyd on Rt. 221 or Rt. 8 that you would like to make available or even donate to this yearly celebration of Floyd's agricultural heritage, it would allow for inclusion of many more activities and displays and ecological growth for our yearly festival and fair.
If curious, please contact Dawn Barnes at 745-9307
    or email floydharvestfestival@yahoo.com

    on Fox Street!

The Floyd County Homecoming and Harvest Festival, featuring the County Fair, was created as an extension of the celebration of the County’s 175 years.  The first year was deemed a success and the fifth year is here. The name has been shortened to the Floyd County Harvest Festival and County Fair but the purpose remains the same.   The goal is to highlight Floyd’s agriculture, both past and present, to recognize our history and provide an opportunity for residents, visitors and family that have moved away to gather.  The Festival will be held in the Town of Floyd this year.

    Come enjoy the day's festivities!!!

There will be live music, vendors, displays and exhibits and

    lots of food!

All activites, events, exhibits and displays will be held off of Fox Street in the Cooperative Extension parking area or in the extension offices.

All exhibits entries will be received at the Extension Office on Fox Street  Friday, Sept 9th

    between 4 and 7pm.

More detail will be available the day of the event.

The festival committee extends a welcome to you and hope that you will enjoy a delightful day in Floyd County.

Here are a few glimpses from previous Festivals:

The “Quilters of Floyd” have honored us again this year with one of their hand-made quilts.

This years’ masterpiece is called a “Churn Dasher”, also known as a “Monkey Wrench” Design.

The ladies began this quilt last year while quilting on exhibit for the 2010 Harvest Festival and County Fair.

Proceeds from the raffle will be our seed monies to bring you the Floyd Harvest Festival and County Fair again next year. We thank the Ladies for their generous gift and you for your support.

Tickets are $1.00 each and are available at the Extension office on Fox now and on the Day of the Fair. The winner will be announced at the end of the Fair Day.
